Child Safety First

I usually take my toddler to the mall's play area to have fun and to socialize with other kids as well. It is also my other way to continue her weekly routine now that the library is having a break for their story time.

Today my daughter had so much fun as usual. She enjoys climbing, riding, running and crawling under the log. She tried to play with big kids like chasing them and go slide with them. It was such a great joy as parents to see our daughter grow so well.

We just let her play for approximately 45 minutes because we still have few stops to do on our way home. As we walk going to the exit door I noticed a little boy behind us and seems like he was trying to chase my daughter. He was playing at the play area too but they left first and to my surprise he pop-up behind us with his father few yards away. I thought his father will come and get him but he was gone and we don't even know where he goes. The little boy keeps walking towards the escalator, I am so concern and tried to find where his father go. My husband hurriedly stop the by from running when he was few steps away from the escalator. We keep an eye on him until his father show up with the stroller.

I couldn't believe it that a parent will let his son loose in the mall where it can obviously put his son in danger situation. I really don't understand or he maybe assumed that we will watch his son while walking towards the exit door.

I may not be very perfect parent but I think putting your child safety as your priority is one the most important compared to other things or belongings you have with you.

Stomach Flu

I just talk to my good friend yesterday. I told her of what's my daughter done through last Wenesday and she told me that it does happen to the kids in the day care center where she work. It is not suprising that kids will get it at this season which the doctor told has been telling us.

This won't last longer than 24 hours but still kids needs to recover liquids and food intake. I am so glad and thankful that my daughter feel better now. What I've learn from this experienced was to stock electrolytes in the fridge especially in these hot weather and to refrain in going to places that posibly source of this kind of virus.

To all mothers out there who is not familiar with this kind of virus please take time to read in baby center.com to have more knowledge about vomiting and each causes.

My Toddler Is Not Feeling Well

As mother we become more worrier when it comes to our kids. We feel their pain ten times or more when they cried because they have boo boo and the worst is if they have sickness that leads them to tears.

Yes, this is what I felt two days ago I was in a panic mode when my little precious starts to vomit every after feeding and liquid intake. I tried to relax myself so I can think well in finding out the cause and what's the best first thing to do. She don't have fever, no coughing, no runny nose, and diarrhea at all. It made me feel bad when she was asking food to eat and drink her milk then she will throw-up afterwards.

I contacted my husband and let him know what's going on and ask him to get electrolytes since I know she needs liquids in her body. At around 10pm I decided to call the doctor for proper instructions of what to do. She told me not to give her any food and liquids and wait until her stomach settled. Then to give her 1oz of electrolytes, observe if she vomit again. If she did then she advice to take my little precious to the ER but if not she want to see her on the next day. It made me feel better when she didnt vomit after she took electrolytes.

The next morning she did eat well and drink more electrolytes, no crying, and she acted happy. But still I took her to the doctor's clinic for check-up. The doctor said she have a viral infection that only take 24 hours and its gone. She might got it somewhere since me and my husband dont any discomfort lately.

I feel a lot better looking at my daughter play and active again. It was another experienced as parents it is tough byt sometimes you really don't have any control with no matter how careful you are because there possibility that they can get sickness in other places.

A Mother's Day Treat For My Mom

Now that I am already a mother my appreciation and admiration to my one and only mother is never ending. I realized all the hardship she had done for us and for the whole family. This is one thing I am always thankful to God almightly for giving us such a wonderful mother like my mom.

About two weeks ago I was so touch how my better half thought about my mom. He gave his suggestions which jewelry should we get for her. I was teary eyed as I came and check it out I never expect it. But then we had decided for a pair of diamond earrings in a 14 karats gold my mom loves earrings.

I know that this gift will be late since my plan of sending my balikbayan box is this coming June. I made a choice of calling her Saturday and Sunday to let her feel our love for her. She made a request of seeing my daughter thourgh skype. It's been a while since they last see each other and I htink its about time to spend tme with the very special person in my heart.

My sister J was planning for a family dinner and as usual they had delicious filipino food prepared. It was fulfilling after talking to mom for a longer time. I know she was so happy and to hear from us. To you mom Happy mothers day!

Symtoms That Needs Attention

A week before Mother's Day I received a message from sister in law informing that my big brother is having UTI again. We are aware that it happen to him often and it is really alarming to us. Mostly when person experienced this kind of symtoms we thought of kidney problem right away and that's what in our mind lately knowing that we had a cousin who is suffering for kidney desease just recently.

The result of his primary check-up and laboratory is normal but since his UTI is still present and now associated with nausea. Their company doctor refers him to Cebu for further check-up and laboratory test. Now, I am waiting for the results I am hoping that everything will be normal and not so serious condition. I have read few health articles to get more information that causes UTI and its diagnosis. I am hoping to hear from them soon.

Wreck At The Highway

Saturday as I drove on the way home there was a minor accident involving three vehicles in Highway of 78. The accident happened in the area where all vehicles must merge to one lane. Traffic built up fast since it was a rush hour as I move slowly I was stopped at the scene and looks like all the parties involve are having warm argument and the cops are trying to settle and calm them down.

The vehicle in middle had a big smash at the back part of it. From my own point of view seems like the third car didnt give way to the second vehicle who is trying to get it in the lane. No one is hurt which the good thing.

I assume all involved vehicles are insured but I was also thinking that still owners had to spend money for the damage of their vehicles. This can affect can also affect their daily lives and add ons to their expenses. That is why take extra cautions while driving, be patient and considerate to others to prevent this from happening.

Protect Your Child's Skin From Heat

It's getting hot. Don't forget we need to provide sunscreen protection for our toddlers.  Just like them their skin is still young and it really needs constant care and protection from sun damage.

When packing for a vacation, beach outing or any plans that includes outdoors activities where they will have sun exposure.   Include sunscreen protection lotion in your luggage or in your list of must have items.  In that way we can prevent our toddler from sore, itchy and painful sun born.

When we went to San Antonio few weeks ago I bought a Coppertone Sunscreen stick for infant. It is handy, non greasy and easy to apply in my toodler's skin and available in any Walmart Stores.
